Oh yes, it’s Ono! She’s exotic, dazzling, intelligent and loads of fun. We asked her the usual questions we ask our Stag Republic guides - read on for the not so usual responses:

Where were you born? I was born in Ulan Bator. (or Ulaanbaatar - the capital and largest city of Mongolia)

Which languages do you speak? I speak French, Mongolian, Hungarian, and English and I just started to learn Japanese.

What music do you like? My favourites are punk and californian punk.  I like some rock bands too, but at parties I like techno and hip-hop.

What is your favourite movie? I don’t really have just one, but The Dark Knight is amazing. I also like Tim Burton movies like Sweeney Todd and Alice in Wonderland.

What do you like to do in your free time? Traveling, traveling , traveling! I love to meet people from different cultures, that’s one of the reasons why I chose this job.  I also do sports, mainly extreme sports.  I love concerts, I play several instruments (clarinet, flute, guitar, citera).  I love horse-riding too.

Favourite restaurant/café/club in Budapest? And why? I like almost all the restaurants on Liszt Ferenc square and the ones on the Danube. My top choices are Spoon, Menza, Café Vian and Minyon, which is next to the Deák square. I love being near the Liszt Academy of Music - where many of these are located. I don’t have to explain why I love to be next to the Danube: views of the Royal Palace,the Parlaiment, Gellért Hill. For me, besides a delicious menu, those views make for a perfect lunch or dinner!  I also like Obuda Island -  it’s full of clubs, and if you don’t like one, there’s another one just ten metres away. During winter I like Club Play, and several clubs on Buda side.

Favourite stag activity and why? Pub Crawls, club crawls and boat cruises. These are the activities when I can talk to everyone in the group a lot, and get to know each of them better. I can talk about Budapest’s history or nightlife, depends on what my group is interested in. The boat cruises are simply beautiful.

What’s the one thing you tell all your stag groups? ENJOY BUDAPEST!

Funniest stag group story? Once, the stag just disappeared during the pub crawl. We were all very worried about him, and the entire group was looking for him for more than two hours. We went back to the clubs where we’d been, called him a millions of times, but he just didn’t answer. We went back at the hotel, we asked the Dj in Morrisons if he could make an announcement - we did everything we could but  just couldn’t find him. After all that worrying and looking, he was finally found, passed out in the toilet at a club.  Maybe handcuffing the stags to the guides would prevent this from happening again… HA! like our guides would go for that…

TIP #14 – Set up a kitty, and make it fair

A kitty is a great way of maximising the efficiency and speed of ordering drinks, but make sure everyone gets good value out of it. The kitty won’t be purring long with five guys on Red Bull Vodka and five on beer, so decide in advance who pays what and whether fines should come out of the kitty.

TIP #22 – Know how to tip

It is not good form to leave all your change behind on the table when you leave. When handing over a larger denomination of change, let the staff know how much you are paying in total and you will receive the correct change, with the tip deducted. So if the bill comes to 7,140 HUF, for example, give the waiter 10,000 HUF and say 8,000 HUF and he will bring you back your 2,000 HUF change. Beware, saying “thank you” can be taken to mean “keep the change”.  If you’re paying by card, it’s best to tip the server with cash anyways.

To spit or swallow: that is the question

If you want to truly tune in to the nuances of the individual wines then it is usually recommended to spit out the wine, after swirling it around your mouth to all its corners, as the alcohol inevitably catches up with your taste buds. As the alcohol takes a grip, you’re senses dim but that’s not to say it still won’t taste good. It’s just that you’ll have a tougher job describing it.

TIP #5 – Don’t change money in the UK, at a change booth or - worst of all - on the street
Eastern Europe is just as full of ATMs as anywhere else in the world, and you will find one as soon as you land at the airport. Exchange rates are competitive and your bank will charge you a flat fee of a couple of quid per transaction - save money by withdrawing as much as you think you will need at the start of weekend.

While getting drunk is a priority, there’s loads of cool stuff to do in cities like Budapest, Krakow and Riga. TIP #38 – Travel light, bring plenty of deodorant
You will not be wearing most of those clothes, so don’t pack them. In, fact, you’ll be lucky if you change your clothes once during the
course of the weekend. All you really need is your bank card, a passport and plenty of mouthwash and deodorant.

TIP #41 – The stereotypes about the beautiful Eastern European women are absolutely true
Except for the one about moustaches and armpit hair. In fact, they had to cancel the waxing bit of “Hungary’s Next Top Model” because there was no point.

TIP #9 – Assign duties to members of the group

This sounds boring, but it can be a lot of fun and help bring the stag party together. Examples include navigator (the guy with the map), bar staff and waitress liaison officer (orders drinks and manages the kitty), clothing referee (enforces stag attire), etc.

TIP #17 – Do not all order at once

Either have one person order for the entire group or, if you are all want something different, one-by-one around the table. Assign a bar staff and waitress liaison officer (see Tip #9) to prevent double ordering.

What’s your motto? “Carpe diem!”

Any hobbies? Billiards, learning languages, photography, travelling (worked as a flight attendant)

Favourite types of movies? Drama, action, anything that takes my breath away

Places you’d most like to visit? Anywhere exotic, or different or is really difficult to reach. I just want to get to know the world!

Favourite things about Riga? Lovely cocktail bars and open-air terraces (in summer!) and the food is great too

Editorial note from Tamara, our tour manager in Riga: Tanja is the shining star of Riga, a little pearl who astonishes men’s hearts with her beauty. Where do you work or where and what do you study?
I’m the marketing manager for 4Play Lounge and I received my Communications degree at the Oxford International Business School in Hungary.

How long have you been working as a Stag Republic rep?
For about a year and a half.

Interests/hobbies/sports?
I love anything FUN.  Clubbing, going to the cinema, billiards, darts, reading, skiing and travelling.

Favourite Stag Republic activities? And why?
Pub crawl because its really fun hanging out with the lads and becoming a true participant in the stag do.

Favourite alcoholic drink?
Vodka red bull

Funniest stag memory:
I could seriously write a book of stag anecdotes, but if I had to choose I had a lovely group from Dublin, with whom I truly became friends with by the end of their stay.

When I took them out on their pub crawl, it was great! But something strange was going on every time someone hugged me or made a ploy to get my attention. Pretty soon I figured out their game - whenever one of the lads was distracting me another one was posing with my ass. They started to laugh and showed me their camera, which was full of pictures of my ass!

When they went home they made a group on facebook called the fans of Kitti’s ass :D:D

What is your favorite thing about Budapest?
The nightlife. It’s absolutely fantastic. I’ve been to lots of countries but nowhere is as good as in Budapest.

What’s the best thing about being a rep for Stag Republic?
I can confidently say that I’ve been participating in more stag do’s than any man ever does and it’s absolute fun. I make so many new friends. And eventhough I’ve never been to the UK, if I ever make it there I will have at least 100 guys to go party with!

What’s one thing you recommend each stag group MUST do when in Budapest?
EVERYTHING except sleeping! Life is for living, rock this shit!
