Toboggan Run
£27 per person
(£29 without hotel package)

We won't lie to you - this isn't the most adrenaline-fuelled stag activity in the world. So if the lads just want to go for some relaxing, 'kiddie' fun, then this activity is perfect. Roll down 700 metres of winding chutes and tracks in little tobbogans surrounded by the beautiful Visegrad hills. It really is fun, we swear! Check out the video for proof.

You get:

  • Transport to and from bobsled venue
  • A lovely, local guide
  • One pass per person (ten slides down each)
  • Snack (hamburger or hotdog)
  • Round of beers

The small print

  • Minimum group size of 8
  • Allow minimum four to five hours with transport
  • Venue is located in Visegrad, appx an hour's drive North of Budapest, maybe more if traffic is bad
  • If weather turns bad (rain or too much snow) then the track will be closed. We'll do our best to find an alternative activity but no refund will be given.

Day at the Races
£15 per person
(£18 without hotel package)

Forget Royal Ascot, Hungary's oldest race track is the place for betting and booze. But there won't be picnics and champagne, we're talking dirt cheap beer, wine and spirits. The former glory of the Austro-Hungarian Empire and the weight of communist era ineptitude make this a unique experience.

You get:

  • Transport to and from the racecourse
  • A lovely, local guide
  • Entrance to the racecourse
  • Your personal guide to gambling
  • A round of beers

The small print:

  • Minimum group size of 8
  • Harness racing: Every Sunday until March 19. From this date on until Dec.31, Wednesday and Saturday as well except for June 3, June 17, Aug. 5, and October 21.
  • Gallop: From March 26 to Nov. 12 it is every Sunday. Special Saturday dates; June 3, June 17, Aug. 5, and October 21.
  • Opening times are 2 p.m. to about 7-8 p.m.
  • Betting is a mug's game (subject to price and quantity of drinks)
