Wine Tasting

Since the regime change, Hungary's top wines have emerged from the wilderness to do battle with the finest France and Italy have to offer. An expert sommelier will talk you through a selection of wines, including reds, rosés, whites, and a world-famous Tokaj desert wine. A great way to kick off a long night of romance and sophistication. And no, you won't be made to spit it out.

Winery Tour in the Countryside

Just 25 minutes from Budapest, the picturesque village of Etyek produces some of the finest white wines in Hungary. During the tasting, the resident sommelier explains the nuances of each of the six wines and recounts the turbulent history of the region. A selection of cheeses, meats and crackers is also served up to keep the palate fresh, but full meals can also be requested. A short tour among the vines and along the country roads is also an essential part of the experience.

You get:

  • Transport to and from the vineyard with a guide
  • An introduction to the region and its wines from the resident sommelier
  • Generous samples of six wines - 5 local white and 1 Argentinian red
  • Large selection of cheeses, meats and crackers
