Stag Republic Krakow Guide - Kasia

krakow-kasia-2.jpg

Hello guys,

What can I say about myself? Well, my name’s Kasia, I’m 23, a student of computer science and econometrics (and no, it’s nothing like economics!!!). I guess I’m really looking for my place in the world and a job that won’t bore me after 2 weeks;) There are two things I do best and I love to do as well: The first is speaking English, which I’ve been learning for about 15 years. I really enjoy using it:) The second, and perhaps the most important thing in my life, is dancing. I’ve been doing it all my life, although I’ve never been to lessons. I guess I’m just a natural;) Last year I was dancing with a group called TamTamiTuTu and that’s the closest I have been to professional dancing;)

Anyway, 2008 is going to be a great year in Krakow, so come on over for a weekend (or two!)

Budapest Halloween Party - Stag Guides

stag republic guide halloween party I went to a Halloween party last night after the all day Stag Republic office party and ran into some of our guides. Like the ghost girl in this picture.

Budapest guide Aniko Aniko was in the house, she borrowed the ‘Cinemonster’s’ hat. One of the most creative costumes had to be his, he was covered head to toe in film reels and looked like a film Puli.
birds in fancy dress A couple good friends were there, chillin’, drinkin’ and having fun with all the crazy costumes. There’s a Christmas Tree on the left, and Jetta from the Misfits on the right.

budapest halloween party Crowd picture. It was not unlike a Stag Party, when all the lads where silly outfits…

Budapest guides One of our pub crawl guides Attila and Aniko (one of our best guides) chatting.

funny fancy dress This picture was taken towards the end. The host was dressed up as a ‘néni’ and was rockin out on his broom. I love this picture because of the two ladies making CRAZY faces in the background.

It was a ghoulishly great gathering…

Bill Clinton in Budapest

Don’t get your hopes up, Bill Clinton is not working as a Stag Republic guide - although he’d probably make a fantastic one.

However, our lovely guides Anita and Bea were out to dinner with one of our VIP clients at Tom George on Saturday the 6th of October and guess who was dining at the neighbouring table? Bill and his bodyguards. Bill Clinton was visiting his rich Hungarian friends in Budapest. And to make things more interesting, a local sex blog offered up some hard cash for scandalous photos of Bill.

So, we’ll let the pictures do the talking. And although our pictures are far from scandalous, you still get a fantastic view of Bill’s brilliant barnet.
bird_plane_bill_clinton It’s a bird, it’s a plane… it’s Bill Clinton’s hair in Budapest!

Anita and Bill Clinton Anita has the balls to ask Bill if he’d have his picture taken with her.

Anita and Bea clubbing After Tom George, Anita and Bea take our VIP client VIP clubbing. (Without Bill Clinton unfortunately)

Stag Republic Krakow Guide - Ewelina

Hello Guys,

Ewelina Close-up

My name’s Ewelina, I’m only 20 but I can handle a pint or 5 (all Krakow natives should be able to!). I was studying Russian at uni, but Polish is difficult enough so I’m looking to pursue other areas of study. I’ve been working for Stag Republic for only a few months, but I’ve really come to enjoy it. Who doesn’t like Krakow’s nightlife?!? And I have really liked a lot of the groups that have come out here - I still keep in touch with some of the guys who’ve been out here. (And no, I still won’t come and live with you :) )

mcgregor_07.JPG My group singing along with the live band on their boat cruise

Apart from one of my groups continually getting my name wrong and resorting to just calling me “Dave”, the funniest story I can remember is from just a couple of weekends ago when one of the guys in my go-carting group burst through the barricade of the track and went out on the main road nearly killing himself. Said he was after beer… I don’t recommend trying that at home (or here for that matter).

Anyway, I hope to meet you all out here in lovely Krakow soon!

Stag Republic Budapest Guide - Bogi

Bogi with Hummer

Hi!

My name is Bogi (short for Boglárka). I’m 24. During the week I work for a multinational company. I’ve been working for Stag Republic for 4 months now and I like it a lot because I like to go out and have fun with a lot of different people. I adore Salsa dancing and listening to Latin American music.

My funniest Stag story: I had just arrived back to the hotel with a group after an activity and they invited me to the hotel bar for a drink. I asked for an iced tea and went to make a few phone calls to make sure everything was set for their next activity. When I got back my iced tea was waiting for me. I was so thirsty that I wanted to just gulp down the whole drink in one go - but I couldn’t because there was a triple dose of alcohol in it! They had ordered me a Long Island Ice Tea!!! Sneaky lads… :)

Hope to meet you in Budapest soon:

Stag Republic Guide and Bookings Director Krakow - Mike Collins

Mike Collins Having brekky with Collins in Krakow

G’day. My name’s Mike, and I do a lot of organising stuff in Krakow for Stag Republic. I enjoy my job because I get paid to get drunk, shoot guns and look at strippers. Not all at the same time, of course. I came to Krakow about 4 years ago whilst travelling through Europe (forgot to leave). There were a few factors that contributed to my staying: beer, beer… beer, and of course the Polish birds. And vodka. That may have had something to do with me missing my train. I can’t remember. Oh well.

Krakow Airport Mike and Helen at the Krakow airport

The best (or perhaps worst because being the guide meant I had to deal with the aftermath) story I can remember was a double stag party. The two stags were dressed up as babies, bibs and all, and I got them all a round of Zoladkowa Gorzka (a REAL Polish vodka), and one of the stags couldn’t stomach it and ralphed into the drinks tray, which was bad for the other stag because he was handcuffed to the first. Smelly. It was rather difficult to carry a tray full of puke to the bar and say, ‘Er, przepraszam…?’ (sorry).

Collins' Krakow Stag Group What a bunch of cry babies!

Anyway, Krakow’s a great place for a stag do, or even just a weekend away. Come on down for a pint and a laugh.

Cheers,

Mike

Collins on a pub crawl Collins smells something funny…
*Note from SR management: Other interesting factoids about Mike - he never gets up before noon (don’t you want his job???!!!); Mike is Australian, so we sometimes have trouble understanding him when he speaks; Mike has become a bit of a gun maniac since he started working for Stag Republic, proof of this in these videos: watch him shoot an AK47 here: http://uk.youtube.com/watchAK47 and a shotgun here: http://uk.youtube.com/watchShotgun

Stag Republic Krakow Guide - Natalia

pa030010.JPG

Alright, lads! My name’s Natalia, I’m a 24-year-old student. I’ve only been working for Stag Republic for 6 months, but I seriously enjoy it. How could I not enjoy drinking in Krakow’s best pubs?!

sa400011.JPG pa030028.JPG
I’ve been studying tourism in Krakow for four years (one more to go!), and have been to England at least ten times, so I know what you lads are like when you get drinking. I enjoy showing our beautiful city to tourists by day, and the bars by night.

sa400026.JPG sa400018.JPG
Funny stories? Well, I do remember seeing one stag with half his body shaven - hairless - but don’t let that frighten you: it wasn’t me. I wonder what his future wife thought of his new look when he returned…?

sa400012.JPG sa400032.JPG

Seriously, come to Krakow, the Jewel of Poland, there’s always something happening and there’s always enough Vodka (try Zoladkowa) and Mad Dogs — a Krakow special (you’ll have to get here to try it!). You’ll never forget Krakow after a night with me :) I hope to see you soon!

Kisses

Stag Republic Budapest Guide - Eszter

eszter_003.jpg

Hi! My name is Eszti and I’m 21 years old. I’ve been working for Stag Republic for one year now. I’m studying English and Media Studies at ELTE. I love this work because I like meeting new people and having fun with them.

I don’t have a specific favourite story, but I love the drinking games that the groups make up. One time I was with a group where the stag had to collect five bras and sell his underpants, the funny thing is he was only able to sell it for 100 HUF (appx. 0.3 GBP). Another time the group put 60 shot glasses on the table: 20 were filled with Tequila, 20 with Vodka and 20 with water. They all looked the same! There were fifteen lads in the group. Everyone was guilty for something that night (i.e. drinking juice instead of beer) and so had to have a shot. If he was lucky enough to pick an alcoholic drink, he had to have another shot. If he happened to get water then he had to sit down.

Stag Republic Budapest Guide - Mária Árvay

MáriaHello Guys! My name is Maria. I’ve worked for Stag Republic for 3 yearsMaria's Group4 and just love it. And why? I like it when people are celebrating and they are all having fun around me. I am a professional tourist guide and I know as much much about Hungarian history as I do about the best pubs in Budapest.

My hobbies are dancing Salsa and traveling. I hope to see you soon in Budapest!

My favorite story with a Stag Republic group:

At the beginning of last summer, I met Michael who was in one of my groups. During the pub crawl we were drinking and having fun at one of the bars. Michael was chatting with and paid particular attention to Monica, the girl tending the bar. The next day Michael came to me and asked me to translate 15 sentences from English to Hungarian, e.g: Are you married? Do you have any children? Would you like to get to know each other? Are you open to moving to England and living with me? etc. I helped him and taught him how to pronounce the words in Hungarian. The next day Michael and Monica couldn’t meet because the group wanted to go somewhere else. A week later I received an email from Michael requesting me to visit Monica to ask her if she liked him and if she would like Michael to visit her in Budapest again. I went to the pub and gave Michael’s email to Monica. 13 months later I received an invitation to their wedding!

Below are pictures of me with some of my groups:

GUIDE TRAINING PARTY

Last night a bunch of our best guides and new guides got together for some refresher and training courses.

We wrangled them all up for some “research” - First stop, the local pub.

We updated them on rules and regulations, policies, customer service and then played a fun game of who knows Budapest best.

The winning team got to drink a round of Pálinka shots!

Here are the lovlies going, going, gone!
