They say the best time to visit Budapest is during the summer. The sun is shining, people are happier and friendlier and this is the time of the year when party people leave the indoor places and tend to go to open-air bars and clubs.
This summer’s going to be our 20th summer. To celebrate all these years in the market, we’ll drop a big party for sure. And to thank all of our clients (returning ones and future customers) for their trust in us, we’ve created a list of all of our favourite open-air places in town.
It’s always a good idea to start a bar crawl with one of the coolest rooftop bars in the Hungarian capital. The 360 Bar became our favourite right after their opening. Have an ice cold beer or a nice cocktail and watch the sun going down while listening to some great house tunes.
Ellátó kert is open all year round. However, it can be very cold in its garden during winter. This is exactly why it’s good to visit this small hidden place in the middle of the party district when the weather is good. This bar is one of the best ruin bars in the city. Have we mentioned its famous homemade tacos at the back of the bar for those alcohol-filled, hungry stomachs?
Kőleves is a restaurant opposite to Ellátó kert. It opens its garden area every summer giving the opportunity for thirsty people to get a couple of drinks from the early afternoon until they see the evening bars opening. It’s also one of our preferred stops on a pub crawl.
Don’t you dare leave Budapest without visiting Fogasház! With its 8 bars and 7 dance floors ’Fogas & Instant’ is officially the biggest bar-club in Budapest. How should you imagine the place? There’s a big garden in the middle surrounded by an old building full of bars and dance floors, therefore everyone can find what he/she is looking for. Don’t believe us? See it with your own eyes!
Open all day. Grab a beer or a delicious spritzer (fröccs) and enjoy the view from the Pest side of the chain bridge. Chill, deep or progressive house? Pontoon has it all! If you’re lucky enough, you can catch a live concert too! What if you get hungry? They have homemade pizza next to the bar!
On the other side of the chain bridge, you can find a similar place called Raqpart. After 11pm the whole bar turns into a big dance floor where you can listen to the latest hits played by famous DJs. And what about the view? The famous Buda Castle is right in front of you (on the Buda side)!
